Abstract

Objectives. The purpose of the scientific paper was to analyze data and evidence from existing sources for infravesical obstruction caused by the complications of nonbacterial chronic prostatitis.

Materials and methods. Scientific publications were analyzed, which present evidence of infravesical obstruction caused by complications of chronic non-bacterial prostatitis and the role of endoscopic surgery in its treatment. As source of scientific literature, the following databases were used: Google Scholar, PubMed and eLibrary. The key words that were used in the search: ”chronic non-bacterial prostatitis”, ”prostate fibrosis”, ”prostate lithiasis”.

Results. 94 scientific publications reflecting current evidence were identified regarding infravesical obstruction caused by the complications of chronic non-bacterial prostatitis: prostate fibrosis and prostate lithiasis.

Conclusion. Chronic non-bacterial prostatitis continues to be considered one of the most common urological pathologies in men under the age of 50 and, and, ranks third place in those past this age after benign prostate hyperplasia and prostate cancer. The treatment of patients with chronic non-bacterial prostatitis must be mandatory in combination according to the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease.
