TEACHERS’ DIET AS A RISK FACTOR OF THE OCCUPATIONAL ENVIRONMENT IN PRIMARY AND GENERAL SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

Objectives. The aim of the study was the hygienic evaluation of the teachers’ diet as a risk factor of the occupational environment.
Material and methods. A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out with the inclusion of 519 teaching staff, who work in pre-university educational institutions in the Republic of Moldova.
Results. Women made up 97% of respondents. It was found that only 8% of the respondents respected the diet, and about 19% ate only once a day. According to the results of the survey, less than 46% had diversified meals. The incorrect diet caused the appearance of pathologies of the digestive system in 34% of teachers and health problems of the circulatory system – in 30% of respondents.
Conclusion. The results of the study demonstrate the importance of diet as a risk factor, including occupational, for teachers.
