Introduction. This review discusses the concept of communication with a focus on managerial communication, its relationship with other managerial functions, and its priority in hospital governance. It outlines the functions and specific roles of managerial communication, communication levels, and strategies for strengthening communicational and informational capacity in support of organizational development.
Materials and methods. A narrative synthesis of the literature published between 1999 and 2024 was conducted using major scientific search engines and databases (including PubMed and Google Scholar). The search strategy used keywords related to communication, management, and hospitals. Relevant books, articles, theses, and other sources were selected and systematized.
Results. The reviewed evidence indicates that communication substantially influences organizational processes, decision-making, conflict management, and leadership in hospital settings.
Conclusions. Managerial communication emerges as an essential function of modern management. Effective communication in hospitals contributes to reducing errors, strengthening team cohesion, consolidating the doctor–patient relationship, and improving the quality of services delivered.
